News from Rich Berlin, PASE Program Council Member and Harlem RBI Executive Director: January 16, 2008 - Harlem RBI’s proposed DREAM Charter School was authorized today by the New York State Board of Regents and will open in East Harlem in September 2008.

The school’s authorization is a great moment in Harlem RBI’s 17-year history. The DREAM Charter School, a concept which has been in the works for more than two years, will deepen Harlem RBI’s impact in the East Harlem community and further Harlem RBI’s mission of providing children and families with opportunities to recognize their potential and realize their dreams.

Special thanks are due to the members of the Harlem RBI Board of Directors and the DREAM Charter School Planning Team, who worked tirelessly to make this DREAM a reality. We also send congratulations to DREAM Charter School Principal, Joshua Klaris, who will lead this great endeavor forward.

Please stay tuned for more information from Harlem RBI regarding the DREAM Charter School, and in the meantime, feel free to learn more about the new school, including job opportunities, at the school’s informational website: www.dreamschoolnyc.org.
