Each year, New York Cares brings vital volunteer support to more than 990 nonprofit agencies, public schools, and other deserving organizations throughout the five boroughs. Our program staff work with each organization to identify their most pressing needs, create projects where volunteers can make a meaningful difference, and then recruit and deploy teams of volunteers to help meet those needs. The great majority of these projects typically would not exist if it weren't for New York Cares. Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) is a national leader in financing nonprofits, strengthening their financial health and improving their capacity to serve their communities. With NFF's help, nonprofits build and renovate facilities, fund growth needs, and expand and sustain operations over time. The Lawyers Alliance for New York Lawyers Alliance for New York's staff, Board, and volunteer attorneys are an unparalleled team of legal professionals who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in low-income communities throughout New York City. Each year their legal staff, joined by more than 900 volunteer attorneys from more than 100 law firms and corporate legal departments, serves thousands of nonprofits working in all five boroughs. Their nonprofit clients receive legal counsel on corporate structure and governance, tax, real estate, employment and other business and transactional law issues that are critical to their operations. In addition, they present dozens of educational workshops and offer a series of publications, all designed to help nonprofit managers meet the legal challenges that they face when pursuing their missions.
